Sunshine, Lollipops!

So today I sit writing from the corner desk in David's room. It is an absolutely gorgeous day and I have every intention of spending it at the beach. Yet it is so hard to get David out the door. This is a classic case of girls being the first ones ready to leave. ARRRGH!

So last night was probably the most fantastic I have had in awhile. David and I went with his Dad and little brothers (so cute!) to a Drive-In movie theatre. I had never been before so of course, I was over dressed. Definately the only one there in pearls! We packed the back of David's truck with pillows and blankets and hid under them and watched the movie under the stars. Seriously how can you get much better than that? So fun!

Today I am wearing my cute little Abercrombie skirt I bought in New York two weeks ago and of course my Juicy Couture Ring that matches perfectly. I also dusted off my last years Steve Madden black strappy sandals. My next purchase in the jewellry department will definately be a watch, I think. I have been looking at several Marc Jacobs watches online and I definately see one in my future! I am sick of looking at my Blackberry for the time, when I could look at a giant piece of brightly coloured, fashionable, metal attatched to my wrist.

I have also discovered the drink of a lifetime at Starbucks. Usually I opt for the low-cal Iced Black Tea Lemonade (literally the perfect drink of summer!), but I decided I wanted something with actual coffee in it, so I have been getting a Iced Nonfat White Mocha and its so good, yet not too healthy.

I have been lacking on my photography, but I promise to put some pictures of my own up soon! I leave you with the ever beautiful Carrie Bradshaw aka. Sarah Jessica Parker. I am dying to see this movie! Ohmygod Ohmygod!

J'adore New York!

So I have officially finished Oprah's biography and have started on J'adore New York! So far I am really enjoying what I am reading. This book is about a prestigious law firm and a fashion lover, two topics that interest me quite a bit! I have decided to write my LSATS next summer, so who knows, maybe I will be a lawyer working on Wall Street one day. Regardless, this book is a good one, that I highly recommend!

The above picture is of Katherine Heigl. She looks absolutely gorgeous and so 50's glam! She is one of my style icons, and I think this picture perfectly represents her classy and elegant side. I love her style choices and how she can make even the most relaxed clothing look glamourous.

Below are some street chic looks courtesy of Elle Magazine's Fashion Blog. I picked a few that are casual, chic and perfect for summer. Enjoy!

It Came! It Came!

YAYYYY! I am so excited. My new Juicy Couture ring has finally came in the mail! It looks just as perfect as I remember. This whole time I forgot to mention why I wanted this ring so badly. When I visited the Rockefeller Centre a few weeks ago, I spotted this little chocolate shop called Teuscher Chocolatier, and in its windows were bunches and bunches of pretty coloured flowers. It was absolutely gorgeous! I later visited Juicy Couture and noticed that their Floral Cluster Ring reminded me of that little chocolate shop. It was so pretty that I had to have it! What do you think of the resemblance?

Today my sister and I went shopping for her prom shoes and accessories. We had some really great finds at Steve Madden. She bought a pair of chunky black heels that will go perfectly with her dress AND she even bought me a pair of smokey suede heels. I love them so much and I cant wait to wear them with a pair of dark skinny jeans. Here they are below. Sorry that the picture is a little bit dark. I also decided I would throw in a picture of my cute bunny, Elliot for good measure!

Yours in shopping,
H.

A Lovely Afternoon

Wow! I have been so busy lately, that I havent even had time to update! I have been working at my Mom's school for the last couple of days (apparently I owe her my time because of a certain hairdresser appointment she paid for last year???? Yeah. It sounds a little bit fishy to me. But whatever. I am enjoying myself) The kids are so cute and I can already tell that some of them are budding fashionistas. I have been up to all sorts of things lately. I went out for dinner on Saturday night with my Grandpa and my Mom, and if I think I am busy, my Grandpa is by far busier. I dont know how an 89 year old man has such a crazy social life! Kaila and I have also been seeing alot of each other. Its so good to be able to come home from our different schools and start up our friendship right where it left off! We also have been relaxing in the hottub alot. For us, the hottub has always been a place where we reveal secrets we dont want anyone else to know about. Its really good to have my best friend in my life again! Haha.

I must confess that I have purchased another book. Gosh, my summer reading list is piling up. I have been following the Pretty Little Liars series by Sara Shepard for quite some time now. My mom and I love them and have been reading them together for years. The newest installment of the series just came out and is called Heartless. If you like thriller novels about friendships and betrayal, then this is the series for you. Seriously when I start one of these books I cant put it down!

I am working on making my blog more unique and special to me. Hopefully this will happen sooner rather than later. Anyways, I leave you now with some more pictures from my trip to New York! The one I started my post with is one of my favourite pictures that David took, the others below, are just randoms that I liked!
Yours,
H.

A Random Update and New Discoveries

Woooo! So today I discovered a website (that has been around for awhile, but new to me) called Rue La La. It is a boutique type website that has different designers sell their stuff for only two days each at a discounted price. When I checked the website today they were selling BCBGMaxazria's and Whitney Eve's new collections, as well as numerous others, including dream vacations. This website is my new love and I definately want to keep in contact with them to make sure I get notified on which designers are going to be featured next. The website is accessible by invite only, or if you give them your email address they will contact you when a spot opens up within their members. Anyways I think this is an exciting find and I definately can see myself purchasing from them in the future.

So today I decided to volunteer my time at my Mom's school. She really appreciates it when I go in to help her out during the day, as she has twenty four ten year olds to teach and it gets a little chaotic. I was the offical book organizer today. I categorized them into genres and put cute little stickers on them. Easy work and it makes me feel good to be doing something worthwhile with my time. Plus, I am proud to say that the kids love me! I have been longing to hang out with David all day, but my boy has been working late. I cannot wait to see him tonight!

I am still waiting anxiously for my Juicy Couture ring to come in the mail. I have a feeling it got held up crossing the border. It is called the Floral Cluster Ring and although I couldnt find a picture it can be found on Juicycouture.com. I was going to include more pictures from my trip to New York but my computer is being a little bit slow. They will come soon I promise! I had to include these cupcakes though, they look too yummy!

H.

Random Thoughts!

So today marks mine and Kaila's second day of handing out resumes. I already have a job so I'm not super worried about finding a new one but I just want better and more hours. I am keeping my fingers crossed that an amazing opportunity comes to me soon. Ahh!

Today I bought another book! Its called J'adore New York by Isabelle Lafleche and I cannot wait to open the pages. According to the cover its a novel about haute couture and the corner office. Sounds lovely! I'm going to read this one before The Carrie Diaries I think. At least thats the plan for now, tomorrow I will probably find a new book that takes top priority on my bookshelf. I just love a new book, especially one about fashion and New York City!

I also bought a white zip up lululemon athletica hoodie today. I had a gift card from my birthday and decided that today would be a good day to spend it! Its pretty basic but knowing lululemon I'm sure there are some cool hidden features. I worked for lululemon for two years and I know that all the clothing has some sort of hidden quality that you would never notice upon first glance.

I recentley stumbled upon these shoes from another blog. Aren't they gorgeous? I would love to be able to walk around in these all day! I am going to try to figure out what brand they are.

Anyways this is it for now. My current project is to check out the new Burberry, Chanel and Marc Jacobs summer 2010 collections. I still have been too busy to find the time to look them up. Yours,
H.

Summer in the City

So yesterday it was back to reality. No more lounging on the steps of the MET in New York City. My best friend Kaila and I went to the mall to shop and hand out resumes. Hopefully we get at least one call back, fingers crossed! All students need summer jobs, so the competition is stiff. At least I had the chance to go shopping. I bought the Carrie Diaries, which is the new book by the author of Sex and the City. It is about Carrie Bradshaw before she became a writer and met Mr. Big and I'm not sure if she had met her three girl friends yet either. I'm pretty sure its about her high school days, but I havent started reading it yet. I'm pretty excited to read it, as well as see the new Sex and the City 2 movie that's coming out really soon!

The book I am reading at the moment is Oprah by Kitty Kelly. It is a biography on Oprah that is quite controversial. It shines light on all the hidden details of Oprah's life that she tried to hide from her audiences. Did you know that Oprah was pregnant as a teenager? That she was addicted to cocaine? That Stedman is not really her lover but her roommate and her cover for her lesbian relationship with Gayle? Neither did I. It is fascinating to read about Oprah as a person and not the billionaire talk show host. I would definately recommend reading this book!

Also, yesterday I ordered by phone the Juicy Couture ring that I absolutely fell in love with in New York. It was literally sold out all over Manhattan, so I didnt want to take any chances with it being sold out online too. It should come in the mail in about two weeks. I am so excited! I love waiting for packages to come, especially when they contain super cute pieces of jewellery.

I decided to include another couple of pictures from New York. The first one above, is David and I being caught papparazzi style by our friend Andrew. Its not the most flattering of pictures but I love that we both didnt know the picture was being taken. The others are just random pictures that I liked taken in New York City.
Yours for now,
H.
